Newspaper Libel Suit.
August Schwartz, a grocery man on
North Flores street, has sued the Dally
Times, or this city, for $10,000 damages
for libel, and hat filed hit original peti
tion In the District court. The alleged
libellous matter was published on the
12th Instant, In relation to the lost of
some furniture by a certain second-hand
Roods store, and which the Timet' pub
cation alleged wat a swindling game
between Schwartz and Miller.
Death ot Henry Arisen.
The tail newt of the death of Mr.
Henry Ansell, oMhlt city, falls heavily
on the many friends of the deceased In
this city. He was nn old citizen of San
Antonio, nnd well known moro for his
virtues than hit faults. For many years
a faithful nttache of the Vaudeville
theater, he enjoyed almost tho reputa
tion of a publlo man, nnd numbered his
friends by legion. He was a native of
England, and had arrived at the very
ripe age of 03 years, and It wat only a
very mild form of consumption which
carried, him oil. His funeral occurs this
afternoon from Santa ltosa hospital.
Base Ball Notes.
The Sunset base ball club hat been
unable to secure datet for exhibition
games ol ball with the Corslcana club,
owing to that club disbanding.
The Sunsets leave on Thursday morn
ing next at 7:15 for Dallas, to play the
league games In that city.
