Two Strokes of Lightning.
In the days of undent Home, when al
most every occurrence was believed to
have n supernatural slgnlllcancc, the
fact that lightning had struck In the vi

the space of 'Jl hour', would have been
deemed a matter of thu highest Impor

called on to explain and Intcrpiet the
will of thogods. On Wednesday after
noon the men who' wero nt work In
Ittverslde park preparing the founda

der shelter by a sudden and furious
storm, and they had scarcely left the ex

earth at that point, destroying the work
already done and uprooting several
trees that had stood near by. A day
later, and nt a spot 200 or UOO miles dis

standing In front of the cottage at Mt.
