This is the second conference de bate this year,- the first being won at Pasco on Armistice Day. Feb. 17 with Pasco there. New Plates Out The new Golden Jubilee license plates for automobiles were put on sale this morning and several local cars are sporting the green and pur ple number plates. Under the new law, plates for trucks and trailers may be purchased over the counter the same as the car plates have been. It is necessary to pay the excise tax, however, before the 11- cense can be issued. County Auditor Harley Chapman was in Kennewick the first of the week. making arrangements for the handling of the plates. He says this county has approximately 3000 pas senger cars registered and upwards of a thousand trucks.
