4 Benton City Farmer Collapses . in Field BENTON ClTY—'—F'une’ral services for Mitchell Engelhart, 63, were held Tuesday afternoon at the M. E. church with the Rev. C. W. Geisz ler officiating. Mrs. Carl Montgom ery, Mrs. Jack Welch. Argus Hughes and I. M. Hartman sang with Mrs. C. E. Morgan as accompanist. Serving as pallbearers were Cyrus Jones, Pete Lasbistos, H. R. Cox, Robert Mathews, Harry and Cy Miller. Burial was in the Evergreen .cemetery with the Presser Funeral Home in charge. Engelhart is survived by his wife Rose and eight children, Mrs. Mary Fleming. Everett, Fred, Betty Lee and Alta Mae Engelhart and a. step-son, Lloyd Forth, all of Benton City; Roy Engelhart of Yakima and Mrs. Elsie Hollis of Davenport; five brothers, Louie and Robert of Se attle, Joe of Naper, Neb., Lambert of Thurston, Neb. and Matt of Sioux City Iowa; also a sister, Mrs, Nettie Lathimare of Weiser, Idaho. A brother, Henry Engelhart of Seattle passed away suddenly January 6. , All the relatives except the brother ‘ in the middlewest were here for the ‘ funeral. Engelhart died Saturday morning about six o‘clock at his home short ly after he and his step-son, Lloyd Forth, had gone to their asparagus field to start cutting. He collapsed and died a few minutes after Mrs. Engelhart was summoned to the field by her son. The family came here in Novem ber from Seatl-te and reside on the John Warren place. For several years Mike Engelhart has been en tuned in the concrete contracting business with his brothers in Se- Ki-Be Loses Two The Ki-Be high school softball team layed Friday at Pasco and were defeated 7 to 6. Women Die Recently WHITE BLUFFS Mrs. Minna Heidemann. who passed away at Walla Walla on April 9. was born in Germany, November 23. 1875, com ing to the United States at the age of sixteen. A few years later she was. married to August Schirm. Aft er Mr. Schirm’s death in 1916, she and her adopted son, Walter came to the state of Washington and a year later married Herman Heide mann at Chehalis, Washington. The Heidemanns moved to White Bluffs in 1923, purchasing the old Grant Agnew place, where they have liv ed ever since. About four years ago Mrs. Heidemann’s health began to fail, but she has kept up altho growing weaker with each passing month. She retained her fine in tellect and loving kindness up to the hour Of her passing. Beside her husband, Herman, she left her adopted son, Walter Schirm of Se attle, two stepsons, Carl and Ar .thur of White Bluffs, a nephew, Fred Frietag also of White Bluffs and many other relatives and a host of loving friends. Her funeral was held Friday from the Lutheran church of which she was an active ‘ ‘member Rev. L. C. Krug officiat-l ing. Pallbearers were Herman ‘ Kilian Chas. B.
