4 Kennewick Youth _Wed In Colorlul Home Wedding In Richland Girl Friday evening, Oct. 24, the home of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Pape at 1613 McPherson, Richland, was the scene of a very pretty wedding. when their daughter, Mary Lou, amid a bank of autumn flowers, was united in marriage to James C. Herndon, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Herndon, who reside at 1506 McPherson, Richland. Only mem bers of the two immediate fam ilies and a few very close friends attended. The bride was reared in Ellens burg. Wash., coming to Richland four years ago with her parents. She attended Washington State College one year, and is now em ployed with General Electric as a dental technician. The groom was reared in Spo kane. The best man was James R. Marshall of Prince ton, Ida. After cutting and sharing their three-tiered wedding cake with their guests, the young couple de parted for a brief honeymoon, aft er which they will be at home to their friends in Richland. EIGIN-MURPHY ,Grace Clara Elgin and Francis Henry Murphy exchanged vows in the presence of Judge Winkenwer der on October 26. Auxiliary Work for the welfare of dis abled war veterans will be an in creasingly important activity of the American Legion Auxiliary during the coming year, Mrs. El mer Olson, rehabilitation chair man of Robt. W. Ely Unit, pre dicted today at the Unit continu ed enrollment of its 1148 mem bership. 1 ‘ More veterans are becoming disabled every day from results of injuries or illnesses suffered in the service, Mrs. Olson said. The Auxiliary will use its strength to aid The American Legion in bring ing to all of those men and women the best of care and a just meas ure of compensation, she stated. ’ “Every woman who enrolls now makes our organization just that much stronger for its efiorts for disabled veterans,” declared the Auxiliary’s rehabilitation chair man. “We have much to do, with our own hands and with our in fluence. “Justice will not come automat ically to the disabled veterans. Someone. must be constantly in terested in their welfare and alert to see that they receive all the benefit the grateful nation wants them to have. Someone must keep their cause and their needs before .the public and the Congress.
