The number of foreigners in Sweden at the first of this year was 112.000. The greatest part is made up of Balts, most of whom are refugees. Then come the Danes. Norwegians, and Finns. Of the 30,000 persons who arrived in Sweden in the beginning of 1945 under the aegis of the Red Cross and UNRRA. only 9,000 remain. About 70,000 of the foreigners are employed. mostly ln‘ the machine shops and the mines.
