Y. —- NKL the National Union of Norwegian Co operatives, held its 22nd annual congress in Trondheim on May Slst. Figures released by the or ganization at the end of 1947, re flect a powerful upsurge in the Norwegian cooperative movement since war's end. By the end of last year the number of Co—ops regis tered under NKL totalled 1081 (1945-835) while membership has increased during the same period from 217,940 to 257,398. Total gross sales of 212,000,000 Kr. dur ing 1947 were approximately double those of 1945. Among the groups most recent enterprises, both established during 1947, are a radio factory in Oslo and a. clothing factory in Norderhov. At the end of that same year.
