Despite his comparative youth.
Judge Pomeroy‘s record of practi
cal experience reads like that of a
man many years his senior. Aside
from conducting a successful pri
vate law practice here since 1931,
he has served as justice of the
peace. police judge, assistant Uni
ted States District Attorney and
Superior Court Judge. In all of
these important positions. he has
won the universal respect of. the
legal profession by his fairness.
knowledge of the law, sense of jus
tice. and by his enlightened out
look.
' A married man with two young
sons. Judge Pomeroy has a keen
interest in the problems of youth.
For two years he was chairman of
the King County Juvenile Commit
tee and is at present a member of
the Adn'sory Board of the Asso
ciated .Boys Clubs. In addition. he
has served on the United Nations
Council and has been active in
many worthwhile civic projects.
While campaigning vigorously.
Judge Pomeroy is at the same time
fulfilling his belief that judges
should take a leading part in edu
cating the public on the need for
modernizing our laws. He points
out that many of our laws were
passed in territorial days and do
not fit our modern, complex
fsociety.

; Danish Reporter Visits West Coast
Among 402 passengers arrieing in the Swedish American motor
liner “Stockholm" recently was the Danish newspaper reporter
Borge Strandnaes with Mrs. Strandnaes and their four children. Mr.
Strandnaes intends to settle down in Los Angeles with his family
and will represent different Norwegian. Danish and Swedish news
and will répresent Norwegian, Danish and Swedish newspapers.
Judge Pomeroy is a past-presi
dent of the Norwegian Commercial
Club. a past president of the Sons
of Norway, and helped to formulate
the Lief Erickson Foundation.
