The population of the county has increased greatly in the last few years, but there have hcen few additions to the precinct in •evcral years. The result is that the county does not show up its true tot ing strength, in comparison wit.ii other counties. it doesn't cost much to maintain a polling-place, and the llnances of the county are In such shape now that*an addition to the number of precincts would he much less of a hurden than it would have been a few years ago. Furthermore, the cost of additional election officers and pollfng ,places is a domestic expenditure, every cent of the outlay going to citizens of the county. The money paid does not go out of the county, as It does In a great many county expenditures.
