Plaintiff sued for $123 claimed as wages due. The court allowed $75 and costs, making a total of $104 40. The parties to the suit reside in the Strasburg neighbor hood. Armstrnog .S: Cameron for plaintiffs, Lynn and Coventry for defendant. Dedicatory services were held in the German Lutheran church in Linton last Sunday forenoon. The pastor, the Rev. John Bunge, preached in German, and also in German in the afternoon. In the evening he spoke in English to a large con gregation. Mr. Hunge deserves great credit for the energy he has displayed in securing the erection of the pretty and well-built church. In fact, he did considerable of the mechanical work on the building. The rush and turmoil of election time caused the Record to overlook the return home of Comrade A. C. Wagher. Comrade Wagher attended the reunion of his old regiment, the 30th Illinois Infantry, at Elgin, in that stale. lie also visited Galesburg and Miss Frances is a daughter of other towns in Knox county, where the regiment was principally enlisted, and met many old comrades whom he had not seen since the summer of ISO". when the regiment was mustered out ofservice. Crary left Tuesday for Elroy, Wis., to visit friends until Mr. C.'s damaged arm gets in good shape. The arm bones were fractured a couple of weeks ago while lie was unloading a freight-car. The two children of Mr. and Mrs. JohnPublic, who were slckat the Ilogue hospital with typhoid fever, and whose father aud brother recently died from the effect of that disease, have re covered sufficiently to return home. Sergeant James Purcell, formerly stationed at Fort Yates, and who lias many friends and well-wishers in Em mons county, is here on a visit to the family of Major Pitts, his brother-in law Mr. Purcell has been in the reg ular army more than tweuly years, lie is now commissary sergeant in the Eighth Cavalry, and is stationed at Fort Robinson, Nebraska. A civil suit was tried In Lint Tuesday before Justice Wagher in wh'ch W. Donahue was plaintiff and jnseph Huechler defendant. Plaintiff sued for damages done by defendant's cattle to his corn-tield. By stipula tion he easy was tried before a jury of tiv persons. The amount sued for was ll'iO. The sum allowed by tbe jury was $51. which, with the costs, made a total of 1101.
