D. -r- here Jacob Scherr, a young man of twenty-one years, was killed by a bolt of lightning during Tuesday's thunder shower. He was employed on the farm of Mathias Lippi. who lives about seven miles southwest of Linton. The unfortunate man was on his way to a neighbors, and he met his death while under a wire fence. The funeral took place from the Catholic church at Strashurp yesteraday forenoon. A dance was held nine miles east of Linton, at the farm home of Pet er Horner on Monday evening June 19th. A crowd of boys and girls were there from different parts and most of them were German. The right-hand-man furnishing the mu sic was Simon Horner, who is a good musician, and put the young people in a happy state of mind. Another dance will be held at the same place some time inthe near f»ture.—Com municated. List of Jurors.
