State of North Dakota, is amended
so as to read as follows:
Section lfis. No land shall be sold
fur less than the appraised value,
and in no case fi.-r less than ten dol
lars per acre. The purchaser shall
pay one-fifth of the urice in cash,
and the remaining four-fifths as
follows:

Miss Emma Anvig met with a
painful accident last week while
assisting her father to lift a hay
rack on a wagon. The heavy rack
slipped from their grasp and fell,
one corner striking Miss Anvig's
right foot, and a bolt sticking
through the rack going entirely
through the foot, indicting an ugly
Wound. She was brought to
town
and had the injury dressed by a
physician. Jf no complications set
in, the wountl is not thought tu be
of a serious nature.

and the chickens $15. No wonder
John is not yelling much about the
"high cost of living."
Silas VV. Hit ley, of Glencoe,
who recently sold his homes'ead to
Adams brothers, that vicinity,
has gone to (jowdon for a visit, his
family accompanying him. As soon
as they get back ar.d can straighten
up thtir business here they intend
going to Cocur d'Alene. Idaho, to
make their future home. Last Sun
day eve,-ling there was a big farewell
supper at the Highy home, at which
forty-four persons gathered 'rounti
the festive board and »rijoed the
farewell hospitality of their host and
hostess.
Several of the young ladies about
town are getting up a leap-year hall
for the evening of November 1st. It
is to be a leap-year affair clear
through. The girls are the ones to
bear all the burdens usually inflicted
upon the male beings in a social
event such as getting uu courage to
ask the fellows to go going to the
house and waiting for the young
men to comb their hair, powder, put
on heir best duds, etc. Each young
lady will also have to pay the ad
missjoniee, take her beau tn supper,
and pay him the proper attention
while at the ball,so that he won't be
too much of a wall-flower. But the
affair at this writing has its anxious
I side for the boys, too. Many of
1 them seem to be worried for (ear
1 some beautiful young lady will not

the land contracted to be sold by
the stale shall be subject to fixation
from the date of contract. In case
the taxes assessed against any of
said lands for aiiy year remain un
paid until the first Monday in Octo
ber of the following year, then
thereupon the contract of sale for
such lands shall if the board of uni
versity and school lands so determ
ine, become null and void. Any
lands under the provisions of Section
lf8 of the Constitution of the State
of North Dakota that have hereto
fore been sold may be paid for, ex
if imminut. at th primai.v election held on June 26. 1912. as the nominees to be voted for on Tuesday, the 5th day of November next, for the offices

as extending the term of office of
the judges serving at the time of
the adoptiop of this arrendment,
except as herein provided The
terms of office of the judges of the
supreme court elected at the general
election in 1910 shall be «s follows:
