There is no reflection upon a man's corn if he showed and did not receive a ribbon. The competi tion was so sharp that many ex cellent samples were below the winning four. However there was not an exhibitor who did not feel well paid for his trouble in select ing his sample. It was gratifying to note the number of new exhibit ors in the show. Many of the ex hibitors saw where their samples fell short and went home determin ed to come back strong next year. The farmers of New Castle County are to be congratulated upon this show. The County Agent desires to urge that the farmers of the County get acquainted with the ribbon winners and if your corn is not up to standard see them about seed for next year. It is obvious that the sample at the show repre sented the best the exhibitor had but a sample of show corn cannot be selected from a crop of poor corn and it is also obvious that if his sample won honors at this show, that he has a crib of corn at home that should be use for noth ing else than seed over the state. The 1918 State Corn Show is to be held at Middletown January 2 3-4. The county Show is a prep aratory school for the State Show and judging from the number and quality of the exhibits at our Coun ty Show, Delaware will have her record State Show in January. New Castle County must follow up her County Show record and set a pace down at Middletown that Kent and Sussex Counties will have to dust to equal.
