Shortly afterward DuPont Post, fifty strong, led by Commander Litzen berg, entered the room and were welcomed by Commander Pickels, of Smyth Post. A camp fire was lighted with Commander Litzenberg in the chair. He made an appropriate ad dress, and was followed by Depart ment Commander Wainwright, and a number of others. Selections were read by Sergeant-Major Banthem, and the Department Commander, Captain O'Connor, of Post 2 Guard, Chaplain Luke and Geo. W. Lock wood, sang patriotic songs, and Julius Dorshell gave some fine music, play ing the mouth-organ and bones at the same time. Smyth Post Drum Corps played a number of selections, and refreshments were served. —At the last muster of General Dan Woodall Post, No. 11, Depart ment of Delaware. G. A. R., of Wyoming, a committee consisting of Commander C. M. Carey, Chaplain A. Carey and Alternate W. H. Bid j die, snbmitted the following pream ble and resolution, which were unanimously adopted :— Whereas, It has pleased George W. Childs, in his great love and affection for the Grand Army of the Republic, io give to this post the highly appreciated gift of a beautiful Bible; therefore be it Resolved, That the sincere thanks of this Post be and are hereby ex tended to Mr. Childs for this ever remembered gifts, and that as the last General Woodall once remarked on receiving a sword from his regi ment, "So help me God, as long as I draw the breath of life it shall never be disgraced,'' we likewise solemnly pledge our sacred honors that it shall ever be so with this gift, " Beggar Student ;' Opera House Duff's Company in " Heart and Hand."
