The News makes the change to-day
from The Idaho News to The Black
toot News. We do this in honor of
our town and her nobie people. The
Idaho News from its vert - first issue
met with favor, encouragement and
patrouage beyond tbe most sanguine
expectations ,pf its editor and propri
etor. It bas been steadily growing
from that issue to the present, and to
day it has a good circulation in every
county in the State as well as in many
of the older states.
We take its
growth and its endorsements as the
highest marks of appreciation from its
friends and the public. We shall la
ior to maintain that steady growth
for The News and to hold the confi
dence and respect of the reading pub
lic. Our aim shall still be our Coun
try's, our God's and Truth's.
During
the present campaign year which has
just begun we expect to make many
improvements. We want to give our
party an organ worthy of the great
principles and policies we advocate
and at the same time hold the respect
of our political opponents for the
fairness and justice with which we
shall treat them.
As in the days
past so in the future we shall keep
.our pen clean from personalities,
blackguardism and the slime a slu-h
of abusive epithets. Blackfoot deservi s
the honor we pay her in this change
pf name; her people, one aud all, mer
it all that a good newspaper can say
and do for them, and we start out to
day with a full assurance that they
will appreciate our efforts and will
