Do You Think He'll Get It
The Slate Central committeemen of
all parties figure the vote of the state
this year at 50.000. In 1*1*1 Mr. Bryan
received 23,192 and Mr. McKinley 6,324.
To get a majority this year Mr.
Bryan must gain 1,810 over bis vole of
1*98. For Mr. McKinley to gut a ma
jority he must gain 18,678 over his vole
of 1*96 Do you think be will gel It?
Echo repeats, do you tbiok he will get
It? Never.
For Twenty Years.
From the records of volet at national
election* for the past twenty year* we
note tbe unchanging electoral votes of
Dio two great parties.
► rom I860 to 1896 the Democrat* re
ceived from never changing stales 139
electoral vote* and the Republicans
128. This gives the Democrat* a ma
jority of 11 from the old reliable* and
standby's to start on in 1900. To win
from the stales that often change Mr.
Bryan must get 85 vote* and Mr. Mc
Kinley 96.

wbat do you think of New York. When

the odds fell to 3 to I. Since his sec

In the closing days of the campaign
of 1898 all roads led to Canton, Ohio,
the home of Major McKinley. It was
excursion day every day to Canton.
More people went to Canton than
Mahontedans go to Mecca, The crowds
and enthusiasm were a revelation to
the Democrats; they saw how things
were going.
It is not so now. Mr. McKinley Is at
Canton, but where are the excursions,
where are the crowds? They are not
there. Mark Hanna is no longer en
joying complacently and comfortably
tbe outlook for victory. He is on the
road speakiDg a dozen times £ day.
Four years ago at the close of Octo

Precinct Candidates.
The Fuslouists of Blaekfoot have a
splendid ticket for Precinct officers.
John Montgomery is ripe in experi
ence and in the duties of his office. He
has made a good justice and, without
solicitation on bis part, bas been re
nominated.
H. C. Dippel is one of the town's pio
neers, callable, thoroughly competent
and erery way qualified for a good jus
tice.
A. L. Stephens brought with him tq
the State, the experience and thorough
knowledge of the duties of deputy sher
iff and constable, from Missouri and

officer we need in the absence of town
marshal.

Political Conditions Up North.
The News Is advised that the polit

counties are wholly satifactory to the
Fuslouists. They will carry four of the
live counties, aud very likely all five of
them.
This news ls from sources that we
cannot question. Our informants are
in a position to know and do know. It
is encouraging to learn that the Brvsn
ticket will win in the State by a splen
did majority. Hunt will be Governor
