areas in the south and the extreme
northeast, but over the remainder of
the country high pressure prevails. The
highest readings are in the northern
plains region and on the north Pacific
coast. Precipitation has occurred over
a belt reaching front Minnesota to New
England, and over limited areas in the
southern plains region and the extreme
northwest. The temperature is gen
orally higher over a belt reaching
from eastern Idaho to Florida, and is
lower over most of the remainder of
