EFFORT TO REACH PACT ON PRICE CUT QUESTION Washington, April 18 .— President Wilson has requested the industrial board and the railroad administration to try further to reach an agreement on the price reduction program, par ticularly as to steel and co«*il. This Information was received in a cablegram to the industrial board to day. The president directed that nego tiations between the two agencies, which resulted in a wide breach in the cabinet, be immediately reopened. He is understood not to have indicated his views as to which party in the controversy should prevail, but simply asked that further efforts be made to fettle the dispute. April 18.—The school children of Bonneville county are given a special Invitation to nttend the government war trophy train that Is to be in Idaho Falls this afternoon from 5:30 to 11:30 p. m. Miss Stella Rogers has arranged with the school authorities to close school at noon throughout the county in order that the children may have an opportunity to view the exhibit. Arrangements have been completed whereby the Victor Furniture com pany of Rigby and the Ulrich FuraU ture company of this city have con solldated with a sapital stock of $50, 000. They will operate stores in Du bois, Ririe, Rigby, Newdale and Idaho Falls. A dance will be given at the Odeon hall by the War Veterans' association next Monday evening, the opening day of the Liberty Loan campaign. It will be a welcome home affair to the returned service men. The Glee club of the Utah Agricul tural college at Logan is billed to ap pear in Idaho Falls Saturday evening. The club Is making a tour of Utah and southern Idaho towns. V. J. These cattle were sent into the valley by tho Hanson Commission company of Butte, to local feeders through the efforts of the Utah-Idaho Sugar com pany. They were fed on beet top silage, pulp, hay and grain. The cat tle showed an average gain of 175 to 200 pounds. The feeders were paid from $60,000 to $76,000 for their feed, a large part of which .the top silage! has In the past been waste. Mrs. Anna Bland, well known in Idaho Falls, died at her home on Tenth street Sunday night after an Illness of several weeks. Mrs. Bland was 83 years old and was a pioneer of the west. Miles Cannon, commissioner of agri culture, held the first hearing in Idaho Falls on the grading and Inspection of farm produce Monday. The potato question was the main topic and rec ommendations to the committee mak ing the Investigation were made. CENTRAL SCHOOL TEAM DEFEATS "Y" JUNIORS IN FAST BALL GAME The diamond at Eighth and Pueblo streets was the scene of a fast ball game Thursday evening In which the Central school boys trimmed the M. C. A. junior team by a score of 2G to 5 in a nine Inning encounter, Claude Hedgecoek and Alexander Simons were the twirlers for Central with Franklin Robinson behind the willow. Elmer Silen played on the mound for the "Y" and Thomas Jen kins. catcher. The feature of the game was the home run by Claude Hedgecoek. The bases were full and he made a long drive over the left field and the score cutter marked four notches on the bench.
