Another Candidate. The Tribune is informed, by reliable authority, that Hon. Edgar Wilson of Boise would accept the Republican nomination for governor, at the hands of the state convention. There is a strong under-current feeling through out the state that party interests re quire the nomination of a new man. This sentiment, originating in North Idaho, has gradually extended over the state, until it has become very pro nounced in many sections, and seems to have settled on Mr. Wilson. He is more than likely to receive the Repub lican nomination. Under ordinary cir cumstances, a reuomination of the present administration might be ex pected, but precedents have not com mitted the party to any such action. Two years ago Governor Gooding an nounced himself as a candidate against the renomination of Governor Morri son. Governor Gooding certainly in vaded the custom if precedent favored renomination prior to that time. We cannot stop to consider Mr. Wilson's fitness at this time. He is well known, however, to the people of the state, haviug held many important positions. He is a lawyer of ability, aud possesses busiuess tact and knowledge sufficient to give the State a brilliant administra tion. This will be a critical year in Idaho politics. In addition to the state, county and legislative offices, a United States Senator is to be elected. Party interests demand the strongest possible candidate, and one in no way identified with factions; one to whose support all Republicans can rally. The Republicans of Canyon couniy will be pleased to learn of Mr. Wilson's candidacy, which is for the first time announced in The Tribune. Fine Stationery at Rowett's.
