Many people wonder bow Bryan
was defeated <n this precinct by three
votes. It can easily le explained.
Early on the morning of election
parties circulated the report that In
case of Bryan's election no further
work would be done on the stone
dams and electric powerhouse, but
McKinley's election would ensure
Uk completion of the work at an
expense .of about $1,000,000 by Octo
ber 1, 1901. The scheme worked,
and the people were worked, but,
"all is fair In love or war.
Notice of Kstray.
Came to my place about May IS,
1900, one stud pony, weight about
700 lbs., color roan gray, left hind
foot white. Said pony was three years
old last spring. Owner please call
pay charges and lake said pony away.
