Yesterday news were received of
the marriage, at Wenatchee on Sept.
27th, of Miss Gertrude Reinhart of
this place and Daniel W. Martin of
Waterville, Wash, the Presbyterian
pastor of Wenatchee performing the
ceremoacy.
The bride Is a daughter of W. D.
Reinhart, of this place, and is well
known here having lived here for tbe
past thirteen rears, and has a large
circle of friends who unite in wishing
the young couple all possible happi
ness and prosperity.
Martla are expected in Rathdrum
aoo d, for a brief visit with friends and
relatives, after which they will return
to Wenatchee, Wash., where they will
assume tbe proprietorship of a hotel.

LaCledc, were visitors in the city yes
terday. Mr. Markham informs
that the recent fire, which dcstroved
the planer and dry kiln owned by the
LaClede Lumber company, entailed a
loss of {7,000, insu mere being {6,000.
There arc about twenty stockholders
in the company. A meeting has been
called and steps will he taken to
build the works.

Mr. Fogg, as well as his friends, is
confident of success. He expresses
his belief that fiom observations he
has made, Kootenai will go democrat
ic, and is firmly convinced that there
is no question about the state. Mr.

Britt's Disease
The largest sum ever paid for a pre
scription, changed hands in San Fian
eisco, Aug. 30, 1901. The transfer In
volved in coin and stock {112,500.00
and was paid by a party of business
men for a spec!tic for Bright's Disease
and Diabetes, hitherto incurable dis
eases.
They commenced the serious inves
tigation of the specific Nov. 15, 1900.
They Interviewed scores of the cured
and tried it out nn its merits by put
: ing over three dozen cases on the
treatment and watching them. They
also got physicians to name chronic,
incurable cases, and administered i
with the physicians for judges. Up
to Aug. 25, eigbty-seren per cent of
the test cases were either well
gressing favorably.
There being but thirteen per cent of
failures, the parties were satisfied and
closed the transaction. The proceed
ings of the investigating committee
and the clinical reportsof the test
es were published and will be mailed
