Let’s Conform A« la the case each year about this time Champaign citizens are called upon to do what people all over the land are doing, that Is making provision for the march “forward”. And of course, as is the usual case, Champaign will maks good. There is. however the slight possibility that some few of us will be satisfied to read, about .Champaign’s successful campaign for Community Cheat funds instead of joining the many good citizens who will help make it a success by giving something. Many of us lack the information of just how much the various funds are needed to help make this the line city that we de Bire. We have little knowledge of the vast sums of money that have been given from time to time to carry on the work of our various institutions as listed in the daily papers of this week. Many of them serve the Negro race almost exclusively, and there are many of us who can help acme if not so much as some oth ers. Our hoy scout movement; our Kindergarten; Home service, lnfact most of the institutions of the city and county affect us either directly or indirectly, and it is our religious responsibility to do what we can to help others help all who need it. The Com munity Chest has done and is doing a fine and most worthy job but it can succeed only so far and so well as the citizens of this country will conform. loot's all do all we can t« make the “quota” Set by. the agency director*. Its worth the. while. OlIR TB ASSOCIATION, too is one of the most deserving organ ization* in this county of all our support. We have to hut casually look about us to see that it has been one of the most beneficial organizations of all time. We know so many young and most brilliant youths, now rendering distinct service to our community and state, who have been cured by the work of this organisation. Much sickness and suffering has been relieved by the few pennies each of us has paid or given in exchange for the Red Cross christ mas Seals we have used and paid for each year. Now, in the var ious sections of the county and cities, we can see the extremely artistic cards or posters prepar ed by the Association, calling at tention to the free service we can get along health lines; free of course, because we have given well to the Red Cross Seals Drive in the past. Thoughtful people will take advantage of this free heulth service and will welcome the opportunity to give a few dimes in exchange for more Red Cross Seals when the time comes. ./HOLD IT'HAVBOO, |UtfA» ACMEST* RAY/ A CHEST X-RAY FOR EVERYONE PROTECTS EVERYONE FREE CHEST X-RAY for your entire household 505 South Fifth St. Champaign ,111.
