Ask Morals Law For Service Men The Detroit Federation of Women’s Clubs today concerned itself wiih the morale of the na tion’s soldiers, sailors and marines, calling upon Senators Arthur Yan denberg and Prentiss Brown to aid in the passage of a law. The law would prohibit “the sale of alcoholic liquors on military or naval reservations or within a reasonable distance thereof, also prohibiting the presence of prosti tutes and the keeping of bawdy houses within reasonable distance of the same." Murray limited into the navy recruiting office and asked: "\\ here do I join up?” Born in England. Murray saw seven yeai- in Egyptian cam paigns, three years of service w ith British forces fighting ihe Boers in South Africa and four years with the Canadians overseas in the World War. in which he was gassed and suffered a shrapnel wound in his Mrjr. Murray appeared surprised and disappointed when the recruiting officer told he was L’O years over the age limit.
