La., April 10, 1917. - Editor of The Herald: Dear Sir: Please allow me space in your paper to ask the public if the Canal Street ferry is run fairly. A working man, \whose salary is meager and who must be at his place of employment at six o'clock a. m.. is compelled to catch an early boat and therefore pay double fare. But the sons and daughters of wealthy parents, who can afford to send their children to lfigh school and college, are allowed the privilege of cross ing the river at the cost of one cent.
