A quiet wedding took place last Thursday night, the contracting par ties being Miss Margaret Russell Pope and Sergeant Vernon Bourdette of Chicago. Ill. The ceremony was per formed by Judge Trauth of Gretna. The bride who is one of our most charming and attractive young ladies was dressed in grey Georgette crepe and the bridesmaid, Miss Daisy Kest ler, was prettily dressed in gray voile. The groom was attended by Mr. Wm. Kelly. After the ceremony, the bridal par ty attended the performance at the Orpheum, and then went to the St. Charles Hotel and remained a few days. Later on the young couple will reside in California. Sergeant Iourdette left Friday for Virginia and will leave for France this week. The groom is gunnery sergeant of the Marine Corps of the Machine Gun Battalion. The bride is the daughter of Mr. Walter Pope and has a host of friends here who wish the young couple much success in their mar ried life. GUIDRY-WALTERS. On Wednesday morning at a nup tial mass, at the ('hurch of the Holy Name of Mary. Miss Mildred A. \'al ters and Mr. William Philip Guidry, 1 of Lafayette. La., were married by Rev. T. J. Larkin. The sancturary was beautifully decorated for the oc casion. The attendants were Miss Thelma C. Rooney and E. J. Booth. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Geo E. Walters of McDon oghville, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. II. Guidry of Lafayette. The young couple left the same morning for Franklin. DIED. Cucich.--On Thursday, Oct. 4. at 10 o'clock p. m., Mrs. Peter Cucich, nee Sophia Amann, died after an ill ness of some time. Deceased was fifty-eight years old and a native of New Orleans. Besides her husband, she leaves two daugh ters. Mrs. F. Spotts and Mrs. R. Sten house, a sister, Mrs. Peter Sirey, and a brother, Joseph Amann. as well as two grandchildren. She was a devout Catholic and was buried at 9::30 a. m. Saturday with mass at the Church of the Holy Name of Mary. Inter ment was in St. Bartolomew ceme tery. Aycock-On Wednesday morning at 3:35 o'clock. Mrs. Joseph Aycock died at the home of her daughter. Mrs. V. J. Fitch, 309 Delaronde street. De ceased was born in Terrebonne per ish sixty-nine years ago and has re sided here for the past 11 years. The remains were shipped to Chac ahoula. La.. on the Southern Pacific train No. 15, this morning. Interment will be in St. Lawrence cemetery. Mrs. Aycock is survived by nine children. Mrs. F. .1.
