That the following ordinance be
laid over until next regular meeting.

"AN ORDINANCE"
To créât a Navigation District with
in the boundary lines of territory in
the Parish of St. Landry, La., as here
inafter described the name of which
District to be "KROTZ SPRINGS
NAVIGATION DISTRICT."
WHEREAS, more than 50 per
cent of the property land owners re
siding within the boundary lines here
infater described have petitioned this
body to create a Navigation District
the name of which to be "THE
KROTZ SPRINGS NAVIGATION
DISTRICT," within the boundary
lines hereinfater described, located in
the Parish of St. Landry, State of
Louisiana.
WHEREAS, to acomplish the ob
jects and purposes for which said Dis
trict is created as is provided for
under Act No. 302 of 1914, it is nec
essary to create said Navigation Dis
trict within the territory hereinafter
described in the said Parish of St.
Landry, State of Louisiana.
WHEREAS, it is the voluntary will
of this body to create said Naviga
tion District within the boundary
lines hereinfater described.
NOW, THEREFORE, SECTION.l.
BE IT* ORDAINED, by the Police
jury of the Parish of St. Landry, Lou
isiana, in lawful session convened,
that a Navigation District comprised
of territory in the Parish of St. Lan
dry, Louisiana ,is hereby creâted and
the boundary lines of which Naviga
tion District shall be as follows, to
wit:
Commencing at a point west of the
Atchafaiaya River at the northeast
corner of fractional Section 8, T-5-S.,
R-7-E., thence west to the northwest
corner of eSction 6 in said Township;
thence south to the southeast corner
of eSction 13 in said T-5-S., R-6-E.,
thence west to the center line of Sec
tion 29 in T-5-S., R-6-E., thence due
south to Section 20, T-7-S., R-6-E.,

Parish of St. Landry, La., thence
easterly and meandering along side
of said Parish to the Atchafaiaya Riv
er; then meandering along the west
bank of the said Atchafaiaya River
north to the place of beginning in the
3rd and 4th wards of the Parish of
St. Landry, Louisiana.
SECTION 2. Be it further ordain
ed, That said Navigation District is
hereby created within the boundary
lines described in Section 1 in this
Ordinance as provided for under Act
No. 302 of 1914 approved by the
General Assembly of this State and
said Act is hereby adopted to be read
with as a part of this Ordianee, the
same as if attached to and read with
Navigation District shall be the
this Ordinance, and the name of said
"KROTZ SPRINGS NAVIGATION
DISTRICT," the domicile of which
Navigation District shall be at Krotz
Brings, Louisiana.
SECTION 3. Be it further Ordain
ed that the governing authorities of
said Navigation District shall be com
posed of a Board of 5 commissioners
to be appointed, as provided for un
der Act No. 302 of 1914 ,as adopted
by the General Assembly o fthis state
SECTION. 4. Be it further Ordain
ed that Hy. Stewart and Ben Willis
are appointed members of the Board
of Commissioners of the Krotz
Springs Navigation District for the
term of 2 years each and U. March
aud is appointed a member of said
Board of Commissioners for a term
of four years as requested by peti
tion of more than 50 per cent of the
resident land owners in said District
is provided for under Act 302 of
1914.
Section 5. Be it further ordained
that the Board of Commissioners of
the Krotz Srings Navigation Distrct
shall meet at Krotz Springs, La., on
the third (3rd) Tuesday of June,
1920, organize and elect their res
pective officers as provided for under
said Act 302 of 1914.

going ordinance, section by section,
