On this | day will be shown the authentic j styles and colors and patterns and j shapes. The newest of the new things 'will be spread in ostentatious array by the dealers for the inspection and j information of the style followers of the entire parish. The move toward the inaugura tion of a municipal -opening day for the Fall season is in keeping with the progressive ideas in merchandis >ng as successfully tried thruout the United States. The growing tenden jw to "dress up" on the part of all people regardless of sex, social posi tion or calling has enforced the man j ufacturers of wearables to provide f or the style demands of all. A WINTER BALL TEAM. There is talk of organizing a ball j team to play ball in Morgan City : during the winter months. Mr. Sam Blum, who is a real fan, has been figuring around on the proposition and it may terminate into some thing for Morgan City. Several busi ness men have signified their willing ness to help the project through and it is believed, in view of the won derful weather that usually prevails here during the winter and due to the fact that all of the leagues are closed, some exceptionally good tal ent would be available to effect the organization. Of course it would be the purpose of the locals to have other towns nearby to do the same thing in order to perfect a winter league. The idea apparently has tak en hold and with a little agitation and active work, may be realized into a profitable pastime. ; j 1 : ; !
