Some of the automobile owners, who were in Patterson, for the ball game Sunday, report that their auto tires were punctured by tacks which were placed in the tires, with the purpose of doing them damage, ap p&rently, Several cars are reported to have experienced this trouble Sunday and one or two of them had tire trouble returning to this city. Gathright & Soumeillan have se cured the services of Miss Beatrice Marsh, an expert and up-to-date mil liner. I The Western Union Telegraph Co., has two large gangs rebuilding their lines between Avondale and Lafayette. One of the gangs will start out of Morgan City tomorrow morning working westward. The Fire of Monday forenoon des troyed about 65 new creosoted telegraph poles, the property of the Western Union Telegraph Co. which had been unloaded along side of the railroad right of way to be used byr the company in rebuilding its line«. The poles are said to have been val ued at over one thousand dollars, and are practically a total loss. The value of these poles range from $15 to $25 each. What is the size ring. The steamer Patricia left thia morning for Abbeville, to bring out the first load of rice, into New Or leans, via the waterway route.
