Whereas, there has been filed with this board a petition signed by one fourth of the property tax payers of school district No. 6, eligible to vote at such election praying that a special election be ordered in and for said district No 6, at which shall be submitted the following proposition to-wit: To levy a special tax of six mills on the dollar on all property in school district No. 6 of the parish of Washington, La., subject to State taxation, annually for a period of five years. And, whereas, in the opinion of this board such special election is necessary and advisable. Be it resolved by the Board of Directors of the public schools of Washington Parish, La., as fol lows: Section 1. On motion duly seconded and carried the following resolution was unanimously adopted: Whereas, there has been filed with this board a petition signed by one-fourth of the property tax-payers of school district No. 18, elegible to vote at such elec tion, praying that a special elec tion be ordered in and for said district No. 18, at which shall be submitted the following proposi tion to-wit: To levy a special tax of 4 mills on the dollar on all property in school district No. 18 of the parish of Washington, La. subject to state taxation, annual ly, for a period of ten years, for the purpose of giving additional aid to the public schools. And, whereas, in the opinion of this board such special elec tion is necessary and advisable. Be it resolved by the board of directors of the public schools of Washington Parish, La., as fol lows: Section 1. That a special elec. tion be and is hereby ordered to be held in school district No. 18 of the Parish of Washington, on STuesday the 26th day of May 1914, at which shall be submitted the following proposition to-wit: To levy a tax of 4 mills on the dollar on all property in. school district No. 18 of the Parish of Washington, La.. subject to state f taxation, annually, for a period of ten years, for the purpose of giving additional aid to public schools.
