Flowers of every description, gifts of loving friends, were in profusion every where. The front bed-room was filled with purple and white hyacinths, lilacs and dogwood. Another room was dec orated in pink and white roses and hyacinths. In the living room were pink and white carnations in Marie Antoinette baskets and pink and white La France roses. Ma rie Henriette roses were banked on the buffet, mantel and tables in the diriing room, and it was diffi cult to realize that so many beau tiful flowers were blooming in iitc'iitochcs tn March. Dainty een favors were also used ns decorations in honor of the day. Four negroes managed to break the trap door that led to the root, and by tying their blankets to gether swung down to the ground and fled; but another prisoner, &1 so colored, after a bit used the same means to get out of jail and hunted up the sheriff and reported the escape. In a little while tne officials got busy and captured two of the prisoners near Grand Ecore, one at (Campti and one at Bayou Natchez. One of the negroes is demented and the others charged with larceny. Notice. By virtue of a writ of seizure and ■ale issued in the matter of Standard Motors Finance Co., Ine. P. R.
