The good people of Tunica have had their indignation aroused by a wife-beater, who recently moved there from Fort Ad anms, Miss. The wife, with her baby less than two months old, ran away from him, and appealed to the community tor pro tection. And not in vain. Comfortable clothing was provided her, and her way paid to her old home in Illinois. The man has wisely miade hiima et scarce, and has not been seen since. Mr. J. S.
