The case of Mrs. Ada Sintriatn .... .
- .... ..awJ ti.1eIijj lS.
A. E. Bourgeois, was tried last Fri
day and the jury returned a verdict in
favor of Mrs. Singleton for damages
to the amount of $6,500. There were
about fifteen subplernad as witnesses
for Mrs. Singleton. There was con
siderable surprise that the full amount

Wednesday afternoon the park
south of town was a place of enjoy
ment for about twenty little people
who belong to the Second Primary
and Juvenile classes of the Presbyte
rian Sunday School. They passed
the time playing games. Before re
turnint home light r'efreshments were
served, much to the satisfaction of the
childish appetites.

Sl'lThe Sunday school session was en
riched by a report from the recent
SParish Sunday School convention.
a The points receiving most emphasis
were: 1. The organization of adult
' classes. 2. The temperance hour
was taken by Dr. Watkins in setting
n forth the plhysiological effect of alco
s hol. i By the way, our class has tak
n en upI that very line of work for 19.07.)
3. The importance of using the Bse
~inners Lessons for the infant class.
s 4. The advisability of enlisting the
infant class as helpers on the cradle
roll.
The Sunday school found the sub
ject "Work among the Mormons"
so interesting that they inadvertently
ran over into the preaching hour.
Some gave their personal experience
with Mormon missionaries. Mr. Cal
kins gave an account of his recent
visit to Salt Lake City, and great em-.
phasis was given the Mormon ambi
tion to gain control of the U. S. gov
ernment. This service was followed
by a very helpful sermon by the pas
tor. At its close, one young girl
signified her intention to consecrate
her life to Christ.

An exchange truthfully says that
the man who went out to milk and sat
down on a boulder in the middle of
the pasture and waited for the cow to
back up, was a brother of the man
who kept a store and wouldn't adver
tise because he reasoned that the pur
chasing public would back up to his
place of business when it wanted any
thing.
