COMPAN Former Epworth League Meeting Sunday evening at 7:00 o'clock the Epworth League of the MI. E. Church held one of the most impressive servi. ces in the history of its chapter. After a very appropriate scripture reading by the leader, Mrs, Van Ness a number of the charter members of the chapter related incidents of years gone by and told of the good work the League had done. It was inspfring as well as encouraging, to hear our older mnembhers say, as several (il, that their desire to lead christian lives had its in slpiration in the devotional ?erviee of the .League. Following the talks made by the Leaguers who stoodl by tihe chapter in it.j beginning, several letters from former members. now absent, were read. It was good to hear the word of praise from these men and women Who have gone to other field, but Who still have Lhe League spirit in their hearts. But the most impressive feature of the evening was the memorial service for the memb-rs who had passed from this stage of action and who are now members of that heavenly League, en gaged in singing their Redeemers praise. Elmer Harris, our President,in a few words paid tribute to the Honor of our departed members, and then our Pastor. Hev. Hlervey, offered a player to God that we, the living, should con. tinue steadfast and faithfulin the way that leads to eternal life. A full attendance enjoyedl the ser vice, which wits of a nature to inluse new life and interest into the work of one of the most powerful factors for good in existence today, the Epworth League. -By Second U.
