Dr. and Mrs. Claude Pennington after a very pleasant visit with the doctor's mother, Mrs. S. A. Penning ton, and family, departed last week for other points in this parish where he tests pupils' eyes in thes chools as he did here in Elton. Frank Best and W. M. Tittle were visitors here from Welsh last Friday Mrs. P. J. Sabatier, who has been indisposed for nearly two weeks it much improved and able to ride out in the country and spend the day with Mrs. T. S. Plunkett Thursday. Mrs. E. N. Harden and children Owen and Rachel, le . Friday for Gilmore, Ky., where they will visit until after conference, and possibly remain for the winter. Thec hildren will enter school there. Mfr. and Mrs. Chas. Walton drove to Lake Charles Friday and Mrs. Walton underwent a successful opera tion for appendicitis Saturday morn ing. During Mrs. Walton's absence Mis ses lone and Edna will be at home with Mrs. Alda Pilgrim during the school week and spend the week-ends with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs Hy. Walton. Mrs. Frank Epperly and children o` Raymond were the guests of Mrs. Jno. Barnett Friday and Saturday o last week, Mrs. Barnett taking them home Saturday evening. Mrs. Martha Blanton who spent s part of last week in the country is again with her mother, Mrs. J. He bert. G. A. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Stokes were passengers for Eunice on Saturday afternoon's train, the former going tc have some dental work done. J. F.
