Pointe-a-la-lHache. Mrs. Rigaud~and children were New Orleans visitors the fihst of the week. Miss Rose Rebeaud has returned af ter spending some time with relatives 1 at Myrtle Grove and New Orleans. Master Bernard Favret celebrated his birthday last Tuesday with a party at which delicious iced refreshments were served in abundance. Dr. F. R. Singleton was a business t visitor to New Orleans Saturday. Mrs. S. B." Ilevers and son were visitors to New Orleans last Saturday. Plans for a combination freight and passenger depot for Belle Chasse have been drawn by Engineer H. H. Gibson of the Grand Isle railway, and have been forwarded to the state railway commission, which body recently issued an order directing the company to build a depot at the station named. Patrons of the road near Belle Chasse are at a loss to explain.the wherefore, of the order emanatipg from the railway com mission, as the 'service given 'by the railroad is said to. be better than could be given should: the depot be built. Under the present practice the train stops at all roesiugs if flagged, pract ically giviii the patroný a service aimre iliar to trolley service in the city; If all trains so compelled to. stop. at tlie ' depot, it is.thought the company.. may refuse to stop. at the crossings. 'In such event the President shall cause another election to be held with in thirty days, and shall give notice thereof as hereinbefore, provided.
