Lafayette, is beginning an experi
ment in the raising of Alfalfa un
der the supervision of their tea
cher, W. O. Martin. They hope
to be able to discover how to make
profitable the raising in Louisiana
of a forage crop which, in the mid
die west, is extremely valuable be
cause it may he harvested from
three to five times a year.
A New Iberia Correspondent to
the New Orleans palers writes as
