following amendment to the ('onstitu
tion of the State be submitted to the

The auspension of the rules was eon
tinued in order to hear the statement of
Mr. Numa Mire, in regard to his public
road, situated in the Brulee 1uillot, to
the effect that owing to a community
canal passing on his front, which was
neglected by those who were obligated
-by contract to maintain same, his road
was damaged by overflow. The jury
after considering the condition of at
fairs referred tile whole subject matter
to the Road ln peetor of that district
and the Drainage commissioners. The
regular order of Business being resum
ed, the claims and pension petitions
were read and referred to the committee
on claims, for examination.
The reports of the parish treasurer.
on General and Drainage Funds of the
parish were also read and referred to
committee on Finance.
At this time. Sheriff James Beary,
presented to the Jury, the receipt of the
parish treasurer. to the effect that he
hadl settled for all blank li.enuses deli
vered to him, for the year 1899, and
thereupon on motion of Mr. Morvant
duly seconded by Mr. Trusclair, a quie
tus to that extent was ordered in Sheriff
Iteary's favor. There being no further
business, the Jury adjourned to ten
o'clock a. mi. to-morrow.
