WHEREAS a controversy has arisen between the parish authorities and the heirs of FERDINAND BARILIAEAUX as to the right of the parish to take from the said heirs a new road in front of their lands situated in this parish on the right descending bank of the bayen LA FOURCHE and just below the vilage of LOCKPORT, and whereas the sqid controversy has been settled and com promised, by the opposing parties by mutual concessions by the opening of the road as it is now located and the agreement to pay therefor the sum of ONE HUNDRED DOILLA8 hby the IACKPORT BRIDGE COMPANY: And whereas the road as so established on the upper line of the property of the said heirs is not quite as wide as the general rules and ordinances of the parish require, being Infringed upon to a very slight extent by the gallery or shed in front of the store building at the corner on the said upper line: BE IT ORDAINED, that for the pur pose of putting of record the said agree ment, it is declared that the said road as now established at that point and the right of the said heirs of the said FEit DINAND iIARILLEAUX to retain the said gallery and store as now estab lished is hereby fully recognized, in favor of them and their assigns, under the said agreement and compromise.
