Bitch bids are too thin oil their surface to fool any sensible man. The Country ib now Sale ! —That grave apprehensions have been entertained regarding the result of the approaching elec* ♦ ions no one will deny, but there is no longer any anxiety on that score. The question was settled on last Saturday night at the Stud dard School House. Two of the most beautiful and accomplished Republican ladies of the Parish of Lafourche, mounted the rostrum and made eloquent and glorious speeches of Wltajcen Heeler, and then the charming bells passed resolutions that they would not allow any fel lers to come whining around them that would dare to vote for Tils den and Hendricks. Bo tint settles the subject. When fair ladies engage in any cause, it is bound to succeed, A regular meeting of the Demo cratic Club, was held on last Saturday evening in Wnverley Hall. Mr. .1. II. The victory of the Democracy i?i Indiana and West Virginia, lias foretold the doom of the pub lic Harpies who have grown fat over the ruin of the laboring and honest masses of the people, and indicate beyond a doubt, that on the 4th of March next, they will have to step out forever. Onward then, Democrats, hon est men, just men, aM who desire good Government, go to the polis ou November 7, vote for Tihlen and Hendricks, Niciioils and Wiltz, and the entire State and Parochial tickets, and a victory, grand, noble and glorious will be obtained, which will restore Louisiana to Freedom, rid our country of tyrants and robbers, and make this 1S7(> not only a Centennial year, but a year ot jubilee. j Great Mass Meeting in the Banner Ward of Terrebonne, at Canal Bellangee. — On Sunday Oet. 22, a large Mass Meeting attended by all the Democratic voters in the vicinity and some two or three hundred colored men was held. The meet ing was called to order bv E. P. l*,asole Esq., who named Eupliro sitis llotard as President, and E. Hotaid Jr. as Secretary. Able and eloquent addresses were made in English, by Messrs. ], I>. Moore. L, Union, and P. C. BoiUeaiqand in French by Messrs, ,J. H. Ilsley and A. Joint, The meet mg passed off harmoniously, and much oredit is due Mr. Abel Bass eh* and liis assistants for the pre parations made and for their kindness and attention to the oia tors and visitors. Canal Belatm ger is a ward that claims to be the banner ward of Terrebonife, and will give a greater majority on Nov. 7, then that ward ever before limt given. Vote a straight Ticket —It is the duty of every Democratic voter who desires the success of his party to vote the full ticket as presented by the Democratic party The nominees were each and all nominated fairly and jus tly, without chicanery or injustice to any voter, and each and every candidate should receive the en tire vote of his party. It is useless to elect onr leading candidates if those who are to aid them in the accomplishment of reform iu government are not elected. The State and Parish Ticket is a good one throughout. The can didates aie all men ot integrity' and honor, and it will be worse than folly to scratch a single name from the list. The Repub lican leaders ill tins District are endeavoring to slip in one or more candidates, under pretense of swapping votes; but the Democrat who fancies that tlie Radical ticket will not bu voted solid by the adherents of that party, will bo badly fooled and luped. Tito Radicals had a Bow wow Lock port last Sunday. There ne less colored men at that eetiug from the immediate neigh irhood than tliern were at the Democratic meetiug a few days previous.
