MIARRIED. On Tucesdtay Dec. 4, 1877, by the oev. *. l Bskeweil, at WVyanoke, CAPT. ii. SBnANDok to FRANCiCS PEYTON, •'""Migst daughter of lMAt, JOIN '1'T. FATAL SHOOTING. On WVednesday night last, during the pet fornmanceo of Cole's Circus in Bayou Sara, a difficulty occurred out side the canvass, between a colored man named Wesley Glover, and two ,white lads, nanm od respectively, Frank Vresinsky, and Leopold lRecche, in which Glover received a pistol shot wonmd in the head which caused almost instant death. It appears from the combined statements of the I witnesses, as elicited before the Coroner's Jury, that the difficulty originated near the circus tent, but that the killing took place in the street, some hundred feet or more froml the locality where the quarrel began. Young Vresinsky and Reeche weto im mediately arrested and turned over to Slheriff arrow, and were promptly con fined in the parish jail. Corouer Ball summoned a jury of in quest who investigated the mtatter on Thursday morning. The jury was com posed as follows: J. S. Wooster, R. H. Hlaile, Jr., Robert Phillips, Henry An derson [c] Nelson Stephens Ie], who af ter a thorough examination of tile wit nesses found a verdict as follows: "We the jurors find that the deceased came to his death from a bmlletthrolgh tile head, from a pistol discharged by the hand of Frank Vresinsky, now in custody." Upon this finding, young Reecho was discharged from custody, and Vresinsky is held to answer the awful charge. The weapon exhibited before the Jury of Inquest as the one supposed to have been used in tile bloody tragedy, is a di minutive cartridge derringer, carrying a cartridge of the smallest size mlade, cali bre W22. and looks like a toy, rather than an instrument of death. The young boy Vresinsky who is charg= ed with the commission of this awful crime is quite a youth, not being, it is said, over 14 years of age. A knife, which may be properly de. scribed as a small sized kitchen knife, was discovered lying near the body of tihe deceased whten removedl, and is sup posed to have belonged to hitm. As tile charge against young Vresinsky I will be investigated befire tile proper tribunal, when all the facts connected therewith will be elicited, we refrain front making any comment, save to point to the awfnil 'omnlentary atffrded by this sad oclnrrelnce, upon the prevailing custom of ipermitting the carrying of concealed weapoIns, in violation of the law, andl more particularly by children. And here we will tke oceasion to di rect' particular attentito to the timely notice, to be fotiud inl anotiher colU'nll, of Mr. ChI:s. Spencer, Const;abl e of Blayou Sara, in relationt to this very mpatter of carrying concealed weapons. ATT'ENTIION MEIC:ILANICS AND IUIlL J)ElhS. ST. F:ANrtsviuI.E, LA., I)mc. 22, '77. Cole's natillanloth cotmbination gave two exhibitions, ae- I corldinlg to aulnoulcemilent, oin Veduesedlay last, 19th inst. The weather was propi tions, and the attendance good at both entertailments. Time audience at the evening performtance was particularly large aid seemed to appreciate the rich fund of anmusemuent spread before thenl by the management. Tile performance was exceptionally good. Indeed it is rarely the case that circuses of the pres eut day, are provided with artists pos sessing the merits, in all the varied doe partlnents of the profession, as are those employed by Mr. Cole. Two of the best riders who have ever appeared before a liayou Sara audiecue, from tile days of Spalding & Rogers up to the present time, Messrs. Gardner and Odell, together with the agile and daring Melle Claire, whose feats upo0 the swinginug rings, 30 feet above the ground, challeng ed the aplplause and admiration of the assemblage, were prominent among the many excellent perfobrmers who combined to ruender the occasion one of enjoyable Iamusement. The clowns too, proved to be the right men in the right place, and succeed in imparting that splice to the en tL trtainlent that gives to the circus its Speculiar and characteristic charmctisti h. Too much can mno: be said in commendation Sof the orderly and s3 stematic manner 3 in which the pecrformauces were conduc Sted, and the polite and cortcous demean Sor of all connected with the establish nment. To Mr. Levius, Treasurer, and Mr. J. V. Strebig, Agent, we are under special - obligatiots for courtesies exteutnded us. "GERMAN SYRUP."
