Present-The Acting Governor, in the chair, lions. Robertson, and Mun day of Baton Rouge, and F. L. Richard son of Orleans. Mr. Freret, the architect, was also present. The inniediate object of the meeting was to 8peu the bide for the supply of material to be used in the construction of the building. There were thirty-live bids in all, w ich included every kind of material necessary. Tie Acting Governor called for execu tive session, after which the following bids were accepted: erick--Garig & Rosenfleld, $9 75 per thousand. Sand-John S. Keogan, 1i00 barrels at thirty-five citits per barrel. Alabama Lime--W. Garig, $1 2; per barrel. Portland Cement--Wi. Garig, 53 .0 per barrel. Rosedale Colnent--Wim. Galig, $2 25 per barrel. Carptlnter Work--R. I. lhirke, $'?, 000, Slating Work-J. G. Lee. $1150. Copper Work-Phil. McCabe, $33?5. Stone and Marble Woik -Kursheodt & Bionvena, $24,875. This embraced all the material adver tised except the iron work, and on con elusIlon it was thought better to postpone this matter to a subseqiuent period. On motion the chair and the secretary, Mr. Richardson, were alppointted a ci-n mittee of two to see to and receive the bon@ of the contractors. On motion the same comnmittee was authorized to obtain from the Auditor warrants on the treasury for the travel inug expenses of the committeeoo and for the expenses of construction. After adopting the minutes of the preceding meeting the board adjouruned. Mr. Freret states that lie now sees no impediment in the way of immeudiately proceeding to work, as the contractors will taturally be desirous to furnish their material as soon as possible. Baton Rouge's quota ($35,000) is in safe depos it, and with the collection of taxes the work may proceed rapidly. nlarria Des troyed. (G. A. .I.
