THE DAILY BANNER Entered a* second class matter at the post office at Cambridge, Maryland. Tin Daily Banmbbis published ever' afternoon, except Sunday, at 112 Hint -treet, dam bridge, Maryland, by WEBB & WEBB, Editors and Proprietors Cambridge, Md., Nov. 8, 1912. In Old-Fashioned Celebration. The great triumph of Democratic principles and Democratic candi dates at the polls last Tuesday is a source of great joy to every Democrat in the land, for It has been twenty years since a Demo cratic President has been elected. The result was achieved through the determination of the voters of this country to drive out of power the Republican party. This inten tion was shown two years ago, in the election of 1910, when, not withstanding the active assistance of Col. Roosevelt, who was then a good Republican, and who helped stand-patters and progressives alike, the Democratic Congressional and State candidates were elected by overwhelming majorities. Col. Roosevelt, by the organiza tion of a new party, kept many of the members of his party from vot ing the Democratic tlcket, but had he been the candidate of the Re publican party these voters, who had made up their minds to take the government away from that par ty, would have, undoubtedly, voted against him as they did against President Taft. However, the election Is over; the Democratic party has achieved the meet remarkable victory in the history of American politics; why not a monster celebration of the event? Why not a great parade, with the band, and a big barbecue, as in the days years ago? The peo ple are enthusiastic; they are de lighted; why not have a great cele bration over this victory, with speeches, bou-firee, oyster roasts, torch light processions, national music, etc?—Cambridge Record.
