JThe Daily Banner! The Daily banner, is published ! every afternoon except Sunday at j 112 High Street, Cambridge, Md. CAMBRIDGE, MD„ AUG. 2., 1921. j Entered as second class matter in the Postoffice at Cambridge, Md. WEBB & WEBB Editors Ana Proprietors. Don’t Miss The Bloomer Girls At 3; 30 o’clock next Monday af ternoon the Cambridge baseball team will play the New York Bloomer Girls. The Cambridge team will present the same line up that has been beating other Eastern Shore clubs one after the other. The New York Bloomer Girls are just what they claim to be —the best girls’ club in the world. They have won absolutely every game played with other girls’ clubs throughout the country. They have some won derful players on their team and they play the kind of ball that would be a credit to any men’s team. The first base player has had columns written about her In the newspapers from fife Atlantic to the Pacific featuring her as the feminine “Babe” Ruth of baseball. She has a batting average of .376. The Bloomer Girls have proven a wonderful attraction wherever they have been. They have played to' as high as 14,000 people at a single game. They played to 6,000 people at Oriole Park, Baltimore, on the 18th of last July in a game with the crack Baltimore Dry Docks team. They play only the best clubs in the country. Winning a good percentage of the games. They come to Cambridge di rect from a big game in Washington, D. C., where they play the Rex A. C., the best club in Washington, at the American League ball park. Beyond doubt this is the best base ball attraction ever seen on the Eas tern Shore. •It costs more money to get this team to Cambridge than has been paid a visiting* club in many years. The Cambridge management lias gone to great trouble and ex pense to get this game and we are satisfied the Cambridge people will be more than pleased. We believe you will enjoy the game more tßan any you liave seen for years. A new grand stand has been built so we could accomodate all patrons with comfortable seats. The grounds will be patrole.d by policemen and a competent umpire will be in charge of the game. Season tickets and passes cannot be used for this game. Children under 12 years will be au mitted at half price. The Merry Concert Band will furnish music. You should not miss this opportunity to see the best baseball attraction even seen at Cambridge. It means a great deal for baseball at Cambridge to have k big crowd to this game. We have been promised already a game later in the season with the Philadelphia Athletics and we are trying to get other games o*. the same class. You can get games of this kind, if our people will at tend them in sufficient numbers. THE DAYS ARE GONE “Are you willing to work for 130 a month and your board?” asked Mr. Cobbles. “Yes, sir,” replied the applicant for the job as a farm hand. “But if you occasionally £ee me pause in my task of manicuring the pigs to brush away a tear, think nothing of it. 1 was paid $lO a day during the war and it wasn’t much of a day at that.” SCENE FBOM ; ' > MACK FENkETTS < r'x REEL CW.EP/ *DOVN 08 THE FARM' One of the funniest pictures you ever saw is coming to the Grand Opera House, Monday and Tuesday the big star cast of fun makers in clude Ben Turpin the cross eyed favorite of filmdom, Marie Provost, one of the prettiest of Mack Sennetts beauties, and a host of others in cluding tiney John Henry, Jr., the two and a half year comedian and Teddy the trained dog wonder. ‘Down On The Farm” is a regular 50 cent feature for 10 and 15 cents. | 4l’^ i i '' * 2 :: “Nothing takes the place of your own | :: money in case of emergency.
