ANLiHKW ALI.lHOX ct'TH IMS OWN Tllf.OAT. (Kroin the Moi'omb Kule.) On last .MoriJav evening this communltv was shocked to hear (if Ulo death, ly ul cide. of Androw Allison, an old nnd weultliy fitrmor or Scotland township, who resided live or six tulles south of Ma comb. On last Monday about 12 o'clock, Mr. AIIImiii, who has resided In Uin same houo with his married brother, John Allison,) thirled from tho"houic, on fool, going In a southern direction. John Allison was In Macomb at the time, and getting home about 2 o'clock, Mrs. AllUon infiirtnttd him that Andy .-com-pi jlnud of 111 heulth, and lnul jjotio away from the home two hours bofyfe.J Mr. Allison HtHrtetl to look him up and as snow wm on tho yround, lie bud nodi 111 culty in tracing his steps. About one-lmlf mile south of tho larnily resl(len''f, In n deep cut at the side nf a ravine and whlih wui surrounded by a thicket, he found Androw In a dytnc conditio.!. Dis eouritij; him, he nsked nlm what he was doinj; there, when Andrew replied"! want help." John Allison returned to Ilia house, hitched his horses to tho wagon, and with Mts. Allison und a neighbor went to tho relief of tho dying mjtt. When Mrs. Allison took hold of his head, he fnid; Oh I for ono moru breath I " and an shu removed n comfort from his neck, it Wus diicovered thut his throat was cut. and that ho wits in it dying condition. He ceased to speak, nnd wa. dead in a few minutes, iilood wna discovered twenty feet from where he lay, front which it would seem that ho had out Ills throat and walked to the placo of con cealment. When first diicovered, An drew Allison seemed to be makirii: exer tions to jirav, and was reclining on his left sidu in a ha'lf sitting posture. His razor was found near him, showing that the act which caused his death, was deliberately planned when he left the house. His wind-pipe was cut about half in two. Andrew Atliton was an unmatried man of about fifty-eight years of gc. He had an Inordinate lovo lor money which was probably the only thing he ever lovrd In his life and be was probably, at the time of his death, worth $100,000. As a man, he whs uncouth in appearance looked liku ho had inherited a largo amount of poverty and was trying to seo how long ho could make it last. Ho cared as little for looks us any man possibly could, and he had a way of his own, which inndo him appear mysterious and eccentric to other human beings. During the past year Mr. Allison has been considerably annoyed with a road controversy. A road was projected to run through hfs farm, dividing his two quar ters, and the matter was in litigation in this city two or three woeks ago. Mr. II liion, it is told of him, had asserted fre quently, the road should not run throbuh his farm, as long ns he lived. Mr. Allison was "beat" In the trial, and it no doubt, cost him considerable money to carry on his side of tho case. Tho dricat, and tho Ims of expenses In the trial, pro bably worked upon his mind, and caused him to commit thn rasb act. Hn wa old enough to know b-tter but if he thought ho hud lived long enough the public will not particularly complain at the dlapen.a tin of Providence in thus calling blm away from this wicked and troublesome world.
