j The treasurer reported that she
had 17500 in the treasury and That
no money had been paid out during
the past month
The chairman of the sent committee
I reported that only three seats were
ready Those who had promised them
seem to be in no hurry to get them
ready that she felt a delicacy in
i mentioning the matter too often but
lived in hopes that they would be
i ready before the next meeting
1 Mrs D M Smith reported that she
i would have the trees planted along
the new cemetery work just as soon
as it rained She had also interview
ed Judge Bullock about moving the
barbed wire fence next to the walk
i
and that he very graciously said he
I would do so at once She was in
structed to continue until the good
I work was done
I Mrs MacKay was absent therefore
no report was made about the old
building in front of the Methodist
church
Mrs Maughs was also absent and
I
no report was made about the filthy
i condition of the surroundings of the j
I A C L depot
I Mrs Mocker was also unavoidedlv
absent and did not report about the

driveways by our county officials

Mrs Sistrunk asked to have the

sate that Woodrow had been ab II

I fore no definite report could be made
I
about the library and that the mat i
ter would be more fully discussed
j later However since there was no
I other outside work that the Pociery
could do at the present it would be
i a good idea to concentrate all efforts
I in that direction
j It is understood that there are six
ty rental dues and unless pftid the
i library will have to close
It was sugsesUnl that if the ci v im
provement society lid nor take the I
matter up it would be a good idea to
turn the books overlo the high chooj
The committee that appeared before
the council was next discussed The
request that the ladies made has been
entirely Ignored Many spicy witty
remarks were iuduhced in alxri the
matter
The society has been iniod to have

At Japanese diaaer it is the rule 1I

exactly the opposite I

There are banquets of many kinds

By not eating one can drink a great

is a good deal two quarrts requires
iron nerves to stand But among the
Japanese there are wonderful drinkers
At a military officers banquet a cap
