Doe and Lenfest drove over in Mr Bickford's auto on Saturday to Russell, on the Mouse river, where they spent Sunday and part of Monday duck hunt ing on the vast marsh where the Mouse river overruns a considerable territory at and near that point. They report many nithrods from all parts of the state on the marsh in quest of the web footed birds and thousands of them were bagged during their short stay, the Bowbells part? alone getting fully 200 birds. It was agreed, however, that it is yet too early in the season for the best hunting, as the ducks at this time remain for the most part in the thick reeds, where they cannot be seen, whereas a little later on when the wat er begins to freeze in this shelter the game will be driven out into the open, where. they will be more exposed to view and find themselves wholly at the mercy of the hunters. The party ar rived home at about 10 o'clock Monday night, the dense darkness causing them more or less trouble about keeping the road, but they got here in good shape, nevertheless, and all report having had a bully good time.
