Walter Sheldon, a young boy of
Napoleon, was ciuifce lia-dly injured
when ho fell from a horse he was
riding and the animal stopped on
him.
Mrs. William Wiggins of Park
River is in a critical condition as
a result of her stepping on a rusty
nail, which pentrated her foot for
about an inch.

it is thought that he will recover
from the injury.
Owen Madden, a farmer of the
Knlm vicinty, sold a hog there that
weighed 680 pounds, the largest
that has been marketed at that
place this year.
Henry Stewart, a Center con
tractor, stepped on a nail and was
quite badly injured. In trying to
get the nail out. of his foot he fell
and injured his arm.
Two men were held up in Diik
i inson. One of the victims was
struck a severe blow on the fort
head by the butt of a ,-evoim- enr
ried by one of the thugs.
Thomas Wilson of Sheldon was
q:ui^e badly injured when a large
load of liav on which Tie was riding
tipped over and Mr. Wilson was
i caught between the load.
A Bismarck man announced
(here that lie had killed twenty
five ducks in four shots. There
was a fisherman thar caught that
mn:iv fish with one worm.

K. Kennelly, a mail carrier, while

Miss .Mary Shaw, a member of

Ilenry Stammen of Musk-ego
township in Renville county had a
field of Northwestern dent corn that
yelded CO bushels to the acre. Mr.
Stammen is feeding 400 head of
cattle.
Moses Kesler, son of a merchant
at Devils Lake, was slio- in the
leg just above the k-iea, by ."mother
boy. The shooting was accidental
and occurred near the Great North
ern shops.
While fishing at a social DeLa
mere, a son of P. O. Blouin was
caught in the lip by a nook which
fastened itself in such a way that
it could be removed only by the aid
of a knife.
Morgan I'ihoades, colored, of Mi
not, charged with the killing of
Griffin Skinner, 'colored, was bound
over to the district court, without
bond on the charge or murder In
the first degree.
Complaining of a bad pain over
her'heart, Mrs. Nellie Fowler of
Center requested her daughter to
get some hot water. When the
daughter returned upstairs her
mother was dead.
Walter Pakins, son of Mr. and
Mrs. S. E. Parkins, of near Man
dan, was accidentally shot through
the fleshy part of the thigh, by Mrs.
Win. McComis who is employed at
the Parkin farm.
At Lawton the globe on a street
light was displaced, all the mantles
broken and some pipe bent. It is
believed that wild geese, becoming
confused by the light, flew into it,
doing the damage.
Joseph Pinch, who was arrested at
Granville on the charge of selling
liquor, pleaded. guilty berore juflfje
Burr at Rugby and was sentenced
to 120 -days in the county jail and
to pay a fine and costs of $225.
The Lisbon city council passed a
resolution to serve notice on the
Lisbon Light & Power Co., that its
franchise had been cancelled on the
fharges that the company has fail
ed to provide a 24-hour service as
called for.
M. L. Form'an, Soo railroad agent
at Columbus, was badly injured
while extracting the shells from an
automatic pistol. One of the
shells exploded and the bullet en
tered the palm of his hand and
came out'near the wrist.
Dan Gillin of Sarles sustained a
fractured arm wheni ae shot at a
jackrabbit. The report of the gun
frightened the horse ne was driv
ing and it. upBet the rig in which
he was rising. No word could be
obtained of the jackrabbit.

bad bruises. She nad come up
from the cellar but left the door
open intending to close it later but
forgot it.
Julia Yarno, a 16-year-old girl
of Wllliston, came near suffocating
from chloroform fumes. She had
been cleaning some garments with
the anesthetic and retired without
putting the cork in the bottle.
An hour later she was disco.vere'i
in an unconscious condition.
Unknown parties did great dam
age at the farm of Charles Dan
siczen of Morton county in the vi
cinity of Flasher. They stole a
quantity of harness and tools, took
the burs off^ the siutty plows and
not satisfied* with that tore down
two and a half miles of pasture
fence, breaking the posts.

The Maxim-Nordenfeldt un,
which was loaned to Towner by the
navy department, has been return
ed to the department uii its request,
as all guns of this character nave
been called in and are to be put
into the service as anti-aeroplane
guns. The gun has been in Town
er two years, a manner having been
loaned out for ornamental pur
poses.
