the Board of County Commissioners
of Burke County, North Dakota, up
to 2 P. M. March 11, 1919 at which
time said bids will be opened and
passed upon by the Board of County
Commissioners for the grading of
roads for the season of 1919 said
bids to be in ^pompliance with the
following schedule, and under which
all road work will be done, to-wit:
Bid per cubic yard of earth, side
hill work.
Bid per cubic yard of earth av
erage haul not to exceed 100 feet.
Bid per cubic yard of earth, av
erage haul 100 to 200 feet.
Bid per cubic yard of earth, av
erage haul 200 to 300 feet.
Bid per cubic yard of earth, av
erage haul 300 to 4001 feet.
Bid per cubic yard of earth for
each additional 100 feet to haul
over 400 feet.
Bid per cubic yard of earth ad
ditional for filling through bogs or
wet places.
These bids to include ditching,
surfacing and finishing of roadway
in a workman like manner, and in
accordance with plana and profiles
to be furnished.
Each bid must be accompanied
by a certified check to the amount
of $100.00 made payable to G. K.
Melby, county auditor, as a guar
antee that bidden will enter into
contract should it be awarded to
him, and to furnish a bond in the
amount of $1000.00 for the faithful
performance of the contract.
The work shall be done at such
times and in such places as the
Board of County Commissioners
may direct, and.the said board will
endeavor to keep any satisfactory
outfit continually employed for so
long a period as possible. No sub
letting will be allowed without the
written consent of said board. The
board reserves the right to reject
or accept any or all bids. Bidding
blanks may be secured at the office
of the county auditor and all bids
must be submitted on such blanks.
