In connection with the Harvest Thanksgiving Festival of the Salva tion Army, the local Corps is making determined efforts to raise the sum of $45.00 towards the support of their social work amoug the poorest, as well as well as the payment of vari ous indebtedness. Friends aud sym pathizers who are desirous of assist ing n8ed not uecessaily contribute iu cash, bul may give their donation in any article of merchandise, home made goods, or products of field or garden, live stock, from a chicken up to a cow not being excluded. Con sidering the acknowledged amount of good they have done to the com munity and the country, there should be no difficulty for these devoted workers to raise the above amount. COM. The Misses Mayme Tavlor and Mabel Newton are spending a few days in town as guests of Miss Emma Wild. Mrs. Mick of Edgeley intends bringing in the iinest line of millinery in about three weeks that has ever been shown here. A wagon load of telephone wire went to Merrieourt Saturday. We are not advised as to where it will be connected from that point. Rev. Mitchell will preach his farewell sermon next Sunday. Harvey Clulson let his farm for a year and moved his family into town and after a summer's vacation ho is only too glad to re turn to his home again. He has rented a herd of cows from .T. T. Scott* and try sell ing milk at the factory the next season. 'Little Harry Orlin Larson about sixteen months old, died Saturday night after an illness of nearly two weeks. The remains, accompanied by the bereaved pareuts, left over the Milwaukee Monday afternoon for Brooten, Minn., where friends of'Mr. and Mrs. Larson live and some of their relatives are buried.
