Evans to the Asylum at Jamestown, presented by the sheriff and' warrant of admis sion of Samuel W. Chadwick to the penitentiary at Bismarck, presented by the sheriff be accepted ana approv ed. Anderson that the reports of the viewing committees on the follow ing petitions be accepted and approv eded. Motion carried. Petition for the laying out of and grading of a highway beginning at the northwest corner of Section 2, Twp. 151, R. 87 and running along section line to the southwest corner of Section 25, Twp. 151, R. 87. Com mittee reports that the petition be granted and a few small grades con structed as soon as the sloughs are dry. Petition for the construction of a bridge and grade between Sections 21 and 28, Foxholm Twp. Petition for the opening of a high way between Section 13 and 12, Twp. 154, R. 82. Committee reports that the petition be rejected as the road would benefit only one party and is too expensive to build at tne present time. Petition for the repairing the Valley road on Section 9, Twp. 153, R. 81. Committee reports that the road should be straightened at a pace on Section 9 and a cut and fill made. Petition for grading and ac ulvert between sections 10 and 11 in Berth old Twp. Committee reports that the grade be constructed and two 24 inch cul verts placed in same. Petition for grading of a road be tween Sections 35 and 36, Twp. 155, R. 87. Committee reports that the grade should be constructed on Section 25 where the road is laid out around a lake and that a culvert and $100 be donated by the county. Moved by Com. Anderson, seconded by Com. Huber that the auditor be and is hereby instructed to advertise for bids for the folowing work. Bids to be received not later than 2o'clock P. M., June 23rd, 1913. Certified check of $50.00 to accompany each bid as a guarantee to enter into con tract. Work to be done in accord ance with plans and specifications on file in the office of the County Survey or. Court, Clerk of the County Court, and Register of Deeds for the month end ing May 31st, be accepted and approv ed and placed on file. Motion carried. Vandenoever, sec onded by Com. Anderson that R. W. Jones of Minot, N. D., be appointed as Hail Insurance Adjuster of Ward county to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of C. C. C. Anderson that the following bonds be accepted and approved and placed on file. Motion carried. Hartland State Bank in the sum of $2500.00 with the Dakota Trust Co., of Fargo, as surety, given for the re newal of sinking fund deposit. Bond of First National Bank of Carpio in the sum of $2000.00 with the Dakota Trust Co., of Fargo, as surety, given for the deposit of the sinking fund. Moved by Com. Anderson, second ed by Com. Vandenoever that the req uisition from the Register of Deeds for one farm register record, 500 farm name certificates by owner, and 500 farm name certificates by the Register of Deeds, be accepted and the auditor directed to order same. Mo tion carried. Moved by Com. Sanders, seconded by Com. Anderson, that the follow ing resolution be adopted. Motion carride. WHEREAS, there was due for a seed grain lien to Ward County upon the Southeast quarter of Section 2, Twp. 152, R. 85, the sum of $99.72 as of the 1909 taxes, and the said seed grain lien not having been certified by the county auditor as of that year, but having been added sometime dur ing the next year and contrary to law, and it appearing that L. P. Weather wax having as through mistake ad vanced the sum of $122.75 for the payment of said tax and accrued pen alties and interest. AND WHEREAS the sum of $185. 75 was due as the seed grain lien up on the northwest quarter of Section 19, Township 163, R. 83, and it ap pearing that the said amount was not properly taxed up against the land as provided by law for the year 1909 when the same shoud have been tax ed, but was unlawfully taxed up at some subsequent period, and it ap pearing that L. P. Weatherwax has by mistake advanced the amount of $212.01 for the amount of the said tax and interest and penalties there on, and that the same was not lawful ly a tax upon the said premises, IT IS RESOLVED that upon the assignment of the tax certificates and receipts by the said L. P. Weath erwax and to Ward County, North Dakota, that the amounts of $122.75 and $212.01, making a total of $334.74 be reimbursed unto the said L. P. Weatherwax. Moved by Com. Anderson, seconded by Com. Sanders that the bond of the Williams County State Bank of Wil liston, N. D., in the sum of $32.00 giv ne for a duplicate lost warrant, No. 37613, issued to E. E. Hanyen May 5th, 1913, be accepted and approved and the Auditor authorized to issue duplicate warrant in the sum of $16.00. Carried. Moved by Com. Sanders, seconded by Com. Anderson that the offer of J. C. Cairncross for repairing the boiler and furnishing all necessary material for the sum of $210.00 be ac cepted. Motion carried. Movde by Com. WHEREAS, the National Abstract Company is engaged in the' business of preparing abstracts of lots and lands within Ward County, North Dakota, and certifying thereto, and WHEREAS, by law abstract com panies are required to furnish bnods for the protection of those to whom abstracts are furnished, and WHEREAS, the said National Ab stract Company does not at this time have a surety bond filed in the office of the County Auditor as required by law, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the County Auditor is hereby in structed to forthwith notify the said National Abstract Company to file forthwith in the office of the County Auditor of Ward County, North Da kota, a surety bond as such abstract ors are required to by law.
